What is Atlantic High-Skilled Program?
This stream is intended for high-skilled workers having professional, or management, or any sort of technical job experience. Those who want to work and live in one of Canada's four Atlantic provinces—New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador. It is a pathway to permanent residence.
How does the Program Work?
The applicant must graduate from a Canadian institution in the Atlantic province. Then, they need to get a job offer from designated employers in the Atlantic provinces. If employers are not designated, they can apply for designation. Once the applicant acquires a valid job offer and meets other requirement of the program, they can then apply for an endorsement. The process and requirements are similar for each province. If the endorsement is approved, the applicant can apply for Permanent Residence and work permit.
What are the requirements of Atlantic High-Skilled Program?
Job Offer: Must be full-time, non-seasonal for at least 1 year and is classified under NOC 0, A, and B
Work Experience: Must have at least one year full time work experience within the last three years. This work experience must be:
- paid work (i.e. volunteer work, unpaid internships do not count); and
- in a managerial, professional, or technical/trades position (NOC 0, A, or B/ TEER 0,1,2,3).
Education: One of the following, a Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized institution, or a foreign degree, diploma or certificate, equal to a Canadian credential.
Language: The minimum language requirements are based on the NOC 2021 TEER category of your job offer
- CLB/NCLC 5 for job offer in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3
Proof of Funds: Have enough money to support yourself and your family dependents. (check table below Funds needed to settle in Canada or CIC website)
For candidates with Atlantic Endorsement letters and valid job offers in one of the Atlantic Provinces, the IRCC has the authority to make the final decision on a permanent residence application.
