What is the Atlantic Immigration Program?

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is for Canadian employers who are looking to hire and for foreigners who wish to immigrate to Atlantic Canada. The Program is an additional pathway and is not a replacement of existing immigration programs. The program was initially launched in 2017 as a pilot program  (called Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program) to stimulate economic growth in the Atlantic provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The program has now become permanent as AIP.

What can Springwind Immigration do?

Springwind Immigration Consulting works with recruitment agencies and has built connections with employers participating in the AIP. We will thoroughly assess your educational background, work experiences, language capabilities, etc. to choose the right stream for you and help you find the employer that best suits your needs and qualifications. We will then lead you and your employer through the complex application process and help with the documentation. We guarantee that your application will be complete and accurate, and in accordance with program requirements and Canadian immigration law and regulations.

How does the Program Work?

There are three Immigration Streams applicants can apply under this program:

What are its employer requirements?

The Pilot is employer-driven and employers have several obligations before hiring a foreign national. They must submit an expression of interest to their Provincial Immigration Office, apply to become a designated employer and partner with an immigrant settlement agency.

When the employer wishes to hire a suitable candidate, they must provide a job offer letter and settlement plan (provided by the immigrant settlement agency) then submit a provincial endorsement application identifying one of the three Immigration Streams based on the candidate's work experience. The candidate should obtain a Work Permit while applying to become a Permanent Resident.

What are the requirements of Canada Atlantic Immigration Program (A.I.P.)?

The requirements for each stream usually consist of a job offer, education, proof of fund, proof of work experience, except for candidates who are international students who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada and language requirements. Encourage all candidates to start getting eligible documents ready even before they obtain the job offer to avoid wait time. Documents include: results of a language test, educational credential assessment report, which shows how their education compares to a Canadian credential, if the candidate studied outside Canada, and proof of work experience (employment letters/contract/reference) .
