The MPNP – Skilled Workers in Manitoba sub-category is for skilled workers who have a job offer from a Manitoba company and have worked for the company for at least six months. Applicants can be temporary foreign workers or graduates of Manitoba post-secondary educational institutions.
What are the requirements of the Skilled Workers in Manitoba sub-category?
For Temporary Foreign Workers, the applicant must:
- have a long-term, full-time job after you have completed at least 6 months continuous full-time employment with that company with a valid work permit. (Note: employment that is part of a work-study program is ineligible)
- have all qualifications for the position including training/education and any required licence or certification.
- have job-ready English; specifically, you must demonstrate the English or French proficiency to fulfill the duties of the job description.
- demonstrate your connection to Manitoba through employment is stronger than ties you may have to another province.
- demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live and work in Manitoba.
- if the applicant is an international student from other provinces, you must have a long-term, full-time job in Manitoba and have been working for that Manitoba employer for at least one year.
For International graduates from Manitoba institutions, the applicant must:
- graduate from an authorized education or training program at a public, or registered private vocational, post-secondary institution in Manitoba. Language programs are specifically excluded.
- your academic/vocational program was full-time and at least one academic year in duration.
- have successfully completed your program and been awarded a diploma, degree or certificate.
- have a valid post-graduation work permit.
- have a long-term, full-time job after you have completed at least 6 months continuous full-time employment with that company with a valid post-graduation work permit.
- demonstrate your connection to Manitoba through employment is stronger than ties you may have to another province.
- demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live and work in Manitoba.
- have all qualifications and the English or French language proficiency to fulfill the duties of the job. If the job is at NOC C or D level, you must submit language test result demonstrating your language proficiency at CLB 4 or NCLC 4 or higher in all language abilities.
