What is the Post Graduate Work Permit Program?

A Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) is for international students who are currently in possession of a valid study permit and are about to graduate from their post-secondary institution. This program allows graduating students to obtain an open work permit to gain valuable Canadian work experience after their graduation. PGWPs are usually valid for eight months to three years and is a great pathway to eventually become eligible for Permanent Residence. It is important to note that applicants can only receive a post-graduation work permit only once in their lifetime.
