What is the Manitoba International Education Stream (IES)?

The Manitoba International Education Stream (IES) for Manitoba graduates is determined to provide international students graduating in Manitoba with faster pathways to nomination while also fulfilling the needs of industry. This stream will assist international students in starting a career in Manitoba and contributing to the local economy after graduation. This program provides an alternative pathway to permanent residency. Even if applicants have unrelated education with their current career or job, the IES may still allow them to stay in Canada and work. There are three pathways:

If you are an international student who graduated in another province of Canada, you will not be eligible under this stream but may be eligible under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba pathway.

How do I apply for Manitoba International Education Stream (IES)?

Apply for permanent residency through the Manitoba International Express Stream in following steps:

Step 1: Check out the eligibility criteria of the Manitoba International Express Stream.

Step 2: Create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile and enter a pool along with other applicants. (All profiles will be assessed based on the MPNP Expression of Interest Ranking Points Grid and get EOI Ranking)

Step 3: Wait to get the LAA (Letter of Advice to Apply). Successful applicants are nominated by the MPNP.

Step 4: After receiving the LAA, submit the complete application within 60 days to MPNP

Step 5: After obtaining the provincial nomination, the applicant will submit an application for permanent residence through to Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) within 6 months.

Is it easy to get PR in Manitoba after study?

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) prioritizes international students who have graduated from Manitoba institutions and offers a direct pathway to permanent residency through the International Education Stream. As a result, when you apply in the IES stream, you are no longer required to have six months of work experience in their field before applying for a MPNP nomination.

Can I apply for PR through the Manitoba International Express Stream if I graduated in another province of Canada?

Graduates from another provinces of Canada may not be eligible under this stream but may be eligible under Skilled Workers in Manitoba pathway.
